The head of the International standardization and certification center HALAL, Aydar Gazizov, has claimed that a uniform standard for halal products will soon be created for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
A declaration was made at the Volga Investment Forum in Samara. The innovation will allow tracking such products throughout the post-Soviet space.
Aydar Gazizov said: “In the near future we will make a uniform Halal Standard within the Eurasian Union.”
Russia and the CIS have great potential for the realization and export of Halal products because the Arab world imports up to 70-80% of food products.
The head of the International standardization and certification center HALAL believes that we have a great opportunity. In previous decades, the main suppliers of poultry and red meat to the Arab countries were producers from Brazil, Indonesia and Australia. Recently, however, buyers have had a lot of quality and logistics claims. Russian products will be able to exceed existing offers in terms of price, quality and logistics.
More than 20 Russian companies already export halal to countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Jordan, Egypt.
