The technical regulations of the customs union have been developed primarily for the protection life, health, property and environment in the EAEU member states. They determine the requirements for product safety and the processes connected to that from the product development and manufacturing to disposal and recycling.
Currently, 35 technical regulations are in force in the Eurasian Economic Union – including guidelines for food, toys, furniture, wheeled vehicles, tobacco products and other goods.
On September 27, the College of the Eurasian Economic Commission authorized changes to the plans for the development of technical regulations. The changes affect the development of two regulations"On safety of metro-rolling stock" and "On safety of light rail vehicles and trams".
