On February 8, 2021, a public discussion began on the draft standards in the Technical Regulations TR EAEU 049/2020 "The requirements for pipelines for the transport of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons".
By defining the standards, the following tasks are carried out:
- Definition of the rules and test methods in order to meet the requirements of the technical regulations
- Provision of standardized methods and instruments for the operating organizations in order to ensure compliance with the technical regulations
- Removing technical barriers to trade and ensuring the free movement of products placed on the Eurasian Economic Union market
- Harmonization of the regional norms with international requirements
The draft of the safety requirements and the draft of test methods contain 42 and 20 standards (GOST and GOST R) respectively. The application period ends on January 1, 2035.
Public discussion of the draft standards ended on March 25, 2021.
The Technical Regulation TR EAEU 049/2020 has not come into force yet. It applies from July 1, 2021.
