The technical regulation TR CU 012/2011 on the safety of equipment for operation in potentially explosive areas is changed

On November 16, 2021 the public discussion of the draft of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Union “About changes to the technical regulations TR CU 012/2011 “On safety of the equipment for operation in explosive atmospheres“. The Technical Regulation set minimum requirements for the safety of products during the EAC Certification, EAC Declaration or state registration. The discussion lasts 75 days until January 30, 2022.

The schemes of the technical regulations remain unchanged. However, now scheme 9C of the EAC certification is introduced. This scheme is intended for individual deliveries. For scheme 9C, a test report must be received for the product, which is intended for equipment by the company in the EAEU. The tests are carried out in an accredited test center.

In addition, the changes also include the following points:

  • The duplicate terms in the technical regulations, in the protocol on technical regulations and in the EAC conformity assessment schemes are eliminated
  • Conformity assessment procedures are clarified in detail: including detailed descriptions for identification, analysis of documents, selection of samples, production evaluation, suspension, renewal, revocation and storage of certificates of conformity
  • The requirements for the set of documents submitted by the applicant according to TR CU 012/2011 are specified
  • The procedure for EAC certification of equipment for operation in potentially explosive areas is specified in detail

According to TR CU 012/2011, devices for operation in potentially explosive areas are subject to a certification obligation according to the schemes 1C (series production), 3C (batch delivery) and 4C (single delivery).
