Financial statements from Vietnam

Schmidt & Schmidt offers financial statements from Vietnam in electronic form and their translations into English.

According to law, commercial companies in Vietnam must submit annual financial statements. These data are reported in electronic form or in paper.

Reporting of financial statements in the Vietnam is subject to the Companies Act from 2015 and other regulations.

Currently, the IFRS are not used in Vietnam. Local companies are obliged to use national accounting standards.

Annual financial statements are submitted to following authorities:

• Local office of the Tax Department
• Statistical head office
• Department for planning and investment

Financial statements must be filed until the 1st April of the following year. Delayed filings are penalized.

Companies participating in stock exchange file their statements to the stock exchange.

Annual financial statement includes:

• Balance sheet
• Profit and loss report
• Cash flow statement
• Notes

Registers of financial statements filed to state authorities are not public.

Full financial statements of companies participating in stock exchange can be obtained with a special online service of the stock exchange. To obtain financial statements of a specific company, its full name in Vietnamese language and registration number are required.

Financial statements provide detailed information about a company’s financial state, solvency and performance of an enterprise.

Financial statements can provide valuable information about potential business partner which can be used for making decisions like purchasing capital shares or goods or taking legal action to collect debts.

Financial statements are provided in accordance with the legislation of Vietnam and legal requirements on personal data protection.
