As previously reported by Schmidt & Schmidt, several countries have recently updated the list of officials authorized to issue apostilles.
British Virgin Islands(UK overseas territory): Apostilles are now handled solely by the Office of the Deputy Governor.
Uzbekistan: Regional departments of the Ministry of Justice are now authorized to issue apostilles.
Uruguay: The General Directorate of Consular Services has been officially designated as the apostille authority.
Bermuda: Apostille authority has been transferred to the Parliamentary Registry Office.
Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: The Registrar of the Supreme Court has been replaced by the Secretary to the Supreme Court.
Cuba: Consular legalization has been temporarily moved from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Ministry of Justice. This is a transitional measure as Cuba prepares to join the Hague Apostille Convention.
Saint Kitts and Nevis: The Attorney General, the Cabinet Secretary, and the Registrar of the Supreme Court were removed from the list of authorized officials. A Legal Advisor from the Legal Department of the Nevis Administration was added.
Malta: Following administrative reforms, apostille services are now provided by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade.
