The Andorran authorities have given the right to apostille documents to the General Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Director of International Legal Affairs and Human Resources. The corresponding changes are posted on the official portal of the Hague Conference по on Private International Law.
Who an issue Apostilles in Andorra
Previously, the following officials were authorized to issue apostilles in Andorra:
- Minister of Foreign Affairs
- Coordinator for Bilateral Relations and Consular Services
- Director for Multilateral Affairs and Cooperation
- Head of General and Legal Affairs.
The updated list now includes:
- Minister of Foreign Affairs
- General Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Director for International Legal Affairs and Human Resources
- Director for Bilateral and Consular Affairs
- Director for Multilateral Affairs and Cooperation
- Head of General and Legal Affairs.
Countries that recently updated their lists of apostille authorities
As previously reported by Schmidt & Schmidt, several countries have recently updated the list of officials authorized to issue apostilles.
British Virgin Islands(UK overseas territory): Apostilles are now handled solely by the Office of the Deputy Governor.
Uzbekistan: Regional departments of the Ministry of Justice are now authorized to issue apostilles.
Uruguay: The General Directorate of Consular Services has been officially designated as the apostille authority.
Bermuda: Apostille authority has been transferred to the Parliamentary Registry Office.
Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: The Registrar of the Supreme Court has been replaced by the Secretary to the Supreme Court.
Cuba: Consular legalization has been temporarily moved from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Ministry of Justice. This is a transitional measure as Cuba prepares to join the Hague Apostille Convention.
Saint Kitts and Nevis: The Attorney General, the Cabinet Secretary, and the Registrar of the Supreme Court were removed from the list of authorized officials. A Legal Advisor from the Legal Department of the Nevis Administration was added.
Malta: Following administrative reforms, apostille services are now provided by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade.
