In addition to EAC certification, for many product groups delivered to Russia, the digital marking in the “Chestny ZNAK” system has also been mandatory for several years. This traceability system, introduced by the Government of the Russian Federation, is based on a Data Matrix code that uniquely identifies each individual product unit and registers it in a central database. The aim is to remove counterfeit goods, smuggled goods, and non-compliant products from circulation and to ensure full transparency along the supply chain.
It is impossible to import products, which are subject to the marking system “Chestny ZNAK”, into the EAEU territory, to carry out the conformity assessment procedures (e.g. in form of EAC Certification, EAC Declaration or state registration) and to sell them without such labeling.
