From January 1st to September 1st next year, experimental labeling of household appliances in the labeling system “Chestny ZNAK” will be carried out in Russia. The draft decision was drawn up by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. It is impossible to import products, which are subject to the marking system “Chestny ZNAK”, into the EAEU territory, to carry out the conformity assessment procedures (e.g. in form of EAC Certification, EAC Declaration or state registration) and to sell them without such labeling.
According to the project, the products to be labeled include cell phones, smartphones, laptops and tablets, storage devices and devices based on automated data processing systems, switching devices, medical devices, TV receivers, professional video cameras, compasses, refrigerators and washing machines.
Currently, the Russian market has a high share of counterfeit electric lighting fixtures, electric lamps and microelectronic devices, and up to 20% of counterfeit products are included in the supply of electronic components.
Nowadays, medicines, dairy products and tobacco products as well as perfumes, fur products (including fur coats) and shoes are subject to the “Chestny ZNAK” system. This has also affected the market for dietary supplements, disinfectants and beer. It is assumed that in the case of household appliances, labeling not only displaces counterfeits from the market, but also creates a system for disposing of goods and introduces waste collection.
