On June 29, 2020 the decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission no. 80 of June 23, 2020 has been officially published. This decision concerns the changes of the decision of the Commission of the Customs Union no. 798 of September 23, 2011.
The list of standards that guarantee compliance with TR CU 008/2011 On safety of toys has been updated. First of all, it is important to note that the standards were originally adopted together with the technical regulations for toys. Expenditure approved by Decision of the EEC Commission no 221 of 17 December 2019 now applies.
The date of entry into force of the standards has been postponed - from 1 April 2021 to 1 November 2021. This is noted in the list of safety requirements for toys and concerns to articles: article no. 3 and no. 11. It regards the following to standards:
- GOST EN 71-14-2018 for the safety of trampolines for domestic use
- GOST EN 71-13-2018 for Olfactory board games, cosmetic kits and gustative games
In addition, for the standard (8th position) - GOST EN 71-5-2014 - the application period is extended until November 1, 2021: the previous deadline was 1 April 2021. This regards play sets that contain chemicals that are not used for experimental purposes.
Similar changes to the application period has been made in the list of standards for the testing of toys. The change of dates from 1 April 2021 to 1 November 2021 affects nine points: 4, 18, 231, 25, 27, 120, 121, 122 and 123.
The validity period of GOST EN 71-5-2014 and GOST 18321-73 for methods of sampling of individual goods has also been extended to November 1, 2021. This concerns also three methodological recommendations: MR 01.023-07, MR 01.024-07 und MR 01.025-07 for the gas chromatographic determination of various substances.
The postponed start of implementation to November 1, 2021 refers to the same standards as the list of safety requirements as well as GOST EN 71-5-2018 for play sets that contain chemicals which are not used for experimental purposes.
