Due to the decision no. 81 of June 23, 2020 of the Eurasian Economic Commission the deadline of approval documents for the conformity assessment of bottled drinking water has been postponed. This holds for all documents that has been issued before the coming into force of the TR EAEU 044/2017 On safety of bottled water and natural mineral water.
Decision No 81 shall enter into force on 29 July 2020 and shall apply to legal relations from 1 July 2020
The modification will be added to the subparagraphs a and c of the decision no. 135 of the EEC Commission of November 7, 2017. Therefore it will be possible to produce and sell drinking water according to the current standard of national legislation until the expiry of the permits, but no later than 31 December 2021, provided that the permits are available. On July 1, 2020 the transition period ended.
The decision to postpone the maximum possible duration of drinking water production according to the “old” conformity assessment documents was taken on the basis of proposals made by the manufacturers of Respontrebnadzor in connection with the current conditions of the pandemic. Due to the pandemic many conscientious market participants did not have enough time to prepare for the TR EAEU 044/2017 standards.
