From April 22 to June 11, 2021, the changes in the procedure for creating and maintaining the register of the issued EAC Certificates and EAC Declarations will be publicly discussed.
The procedure was approved by the decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission No. 127 of September 26, 2017. The current version does not provide for the use of electronic EAC certificates of conformity.
The following objectives must be achieved with the update of the procedure:
- Elimination of the possibility of forging documents of conformity assessment
- Reduction of the financial costs and/or the time required to replace EAC certificates of conformity
- Provision of the possibility of c conformity assessment of the products placed on the market in the EAEU without having to submit a paper document
Thanks to the renewed procedure, applicants must no longer have the EAC Certificates or EAC Declarations on paper. It also simplifies the procedure for replacing the documents of conformity assessment and eliminates the need to obtain a duplicate if the EAC Certificate or EAC Declaration is lost.
The term “document of conformity assessment in electronic form” will be introduced in the new edition and will have the same legal force as the same document on paper. This makes it possible to create documents of conformity assessment exclusively in electronic form. In addition, the draft clearly states that information from an electronic document will be given priority over the paper version of the document if there is a discrepancy in the information.
