Starting from the first quarter of 2022, any individual to register as a partner, director, manager, authorized representative or auditor of a company will be required to provide a Luxembourg national identification number in the commercial register. The requirement will apply to both residents and non-residents of Luxembourg.
If the applicant already has an identification number, it will need to be reported when submitting documents, if not, the LBR will issue it on its own. The registry emphasizes that the information submitted to obtain an identification number will not be publicly disclosed.
The requirement to submit identification numbers also applies to representatives of previously registered companies. The LBR management promises to provide a "reasonable" period of time to settle the related formalities. The procedure for obtaining a number will be available not only with personal contact to the register, but also online.
