On the 7th of February 2020 began a public discussion on the draft procedure for introducing changes to the EAEU's technical regulation TR CU 021/2011 "On safety of food" .
In order to prepare manufacturers and sellers for the new requirements of the regulations, it was proposed to set a transition period. In this period it should be possible to manufacture and sell goods according to the "old" standards. The project also plans to make adjustments 6 months after the changes are introduced.
It is also worth emphasizing that the changes have no impact on foods that have already been put into circulation - they will be implemented before the stated period of validity.
The most important changes aim to clarify the safety requirements for unprocessed food raw materials and food products derived from them.
The draft document will be discussed on the 27th of February 2020.
