The Finnish Patent and Registration Office has removed about 1,500 limited liability companies and cooperatives from the country's trade register. This was reported by the Cision News portal .
The removal included companies whose management did not submit financial statements on time and did not want to improve after a warning from the Patent and Registration Office. Removal from the register means that the enterprises are completely liquidated and must cease all commercial activities.
The registry was “cleaned” on June 24, 2024. The Trade Register has posted a list of liquidated companies on its official website. The removal of violators does not end there. In the fall, the fate of several thousand more companies will be decided that previously violated the deadlines for submitting financial statements and ignored warnings from the authorities. Their lists can also be found on the registry portal.
Schmidt & Schmidt previously reported that about 5,200 Finnish companies could be excluded from the trade register in 2024. Persons who disagree with the liquidation of their companies will be able to appeal against the actions of officials in the Helsinki Administrative Court. The Patent and Registration Office emphasizes that they are guided in their activities by the laws of Finland on limited liability companies and cooperatives.
