Today, April 26, Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the Turkish authorities will introduce a full lockdown from April 29 to May 17.
In Turkey on these dates:
- A restriction is imposed on long-distance travel
- full-time education in schools is suspended
- the occupancy rate of public transport cannot exceed 50%
- most of the institutions are closed
Erdogan explained that, with the exception of those separately agreed with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, all offices and workplaces will be closed. For intercity travel, you will need to obtain a permit.
The restrictions take effect from 19:00 on Thursday, April 29th and end at 05:00 on Monday, May 17th.
