Global Situation
The year 2023 will be remembered in history as a period when the world faced some of the most serious challenges of modern times. Unfortunately, as has been the case several times in recent history, when looking back on the past year, we have to talk about new global problems that affect our work.
In the past year, we faced ongoing problems in supply chains that affected many industries and led to increased costs and market instability. The war in Ukraine continued, exacerbating global instability and threatening a humanitarian disaster. The energy crisis in Europe reached a critical point, leaving many regions on the brink of an energy collapse.
The past year was also marked by an escalation of tensions in the Middle East, leading to new threats to energy security. These events caused significant fluctuations in global energy markets, threatening to trigger a new oil shock. In the context of the existing energy crisis in Europe, these new challenges only exacerbated the overall instability, testing the economies and societies around the world. In Germany, the budget crisis reached its peak, heralding a potential collapse of the social system, which will inevitably lead to negative changes in the lives of millions of people.
All these phenomena, unfortunately, have led to rising costs, especially in the field of international logistics, which directly affects the cost and timing of services to our customers. For the first time in many years, we had to revise the prices of some of our services upwards.
Resilience, Innovation, and Development
Despite these grim realities, we were able to find ways for growth and development. Our team showed incredible determination, adapting to changing conditions and finding innovative solutions to overcome obstacles. We not only maintained our team but were also able to expand our activities, opening new markets and strengthening our positions in existing segments, proving that even in the darkest times, there is hope for the future.
Throughout the year, we focused on innovation, implementing new technologies and strategies that allowed us to remain competitive and efficient. Our work on improving internal processes and the quality of customer service brought significant results, allowing us to provide services at the highest level in more than 150 countries around the world, and we do not intend to stop there, planning to open our representations in new countries.
Last year, we continued to actively work on the development and optimization of our website, which is our main channel for attracting and communicating with customers. In addition to a number of technical improvements, we published more than 500 news and informational articles. Currently, our website is available in 8 languages, and we are actively working on developing the Spanish version.
We continue to rely on a scientific and analytical approach in decision-making and risk-based thinking to remain prepared for the rapidly changing reality.
The success of the past year would not have been possible without the efforts of a talented, intelligent, and hardworking team of like-minded people, and I am proud to be part of this team.
