The Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology in Russia (Rosstandart) approved GOST R 59424-2021 "Guidelines for remote analysis of the state of production and testing of management systems"
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our world a lot. This has also influenced the development of information technology. Many services are currently offered online and conformity assessment services are no exception.
External audits using information and communication technologies have proven to be almost the only way to continue to conduct conformity assessments despite the pandemic. This ensured the smooth delivery of products and services, which meet both the mandatory requirements and the standards for the quality management system, on the market. Hence, it has become clear that the standardized methods for conducting remote audits using information and communication technologies are required.
According to the international and national standards in the field of conformity assessment, it is possible to use online tools to carry out the conformity assessment. The new GOST R 59424-2021 standard contains the guidelines for quality management audits and supplements them. In addition, the requirements of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) are taken into account in this standard.
The application of this standard will change the methods of conducting the production audit or testing the quality management system. This can reduce costs and increase effectiveness.
The provisions of the standard apply to the production audit as well as to the external and internal quality management system audits.
The new standard was developed by the certification association "Russian Register" and will come into force on September 1, 2021.
