The Eurasian Economic Commission is developing a new technical regulation supposed to increase energy efficiency of household appliances. These measures will lead to significant savings in power.
54 Russian GOST Standards shall serve as basis. The new requirements apply to all household appliances in Russia and the EAEU. Television sets, laundry machines, dishwashers, dryers, refrigerators, air conditioners and heat pumps will become more energy-efficient. According to Rosstandart, up to 40 per cent of power can be saved then.
20 GOST standards have been passed already, 34 shall follow until end of 2017. The new standards and requirements are to be introduced between 2018 and 2019.
