Changes to technical regulations on dairy products and food marking

On December 26, 2017, the Eurasian Economic Commission published resolutions on changes to the technical regulations TR СU 022/2011 On food marking and TR CU 033/2013 On safety of milk and dairy products.

Resolution № 86 regulates some specifities for dairy products in the Republic of Kazakhstan, e.g. the norms on QMAFAnM (quantity of mesophilic aerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms) and somatic cells that will be implemented from December 31, 2019 on. Until then the hygienic and sanitary-epidemiological requirements should be applied.

Resolution № 90 effects that food containing genetically-modified organisms (GMO) has to be marked accordingly. Apart from the EAC Marking, a GMO marking of the same size has to be installed on the packaging. This resolution is to enter into force on January 26, 2018.

Since July 3, 2020 the accreditation body in Russia compares number and date of test reports of the accredited certification body with the data in the FGIS system entered by the laboratory. Such data is registered in the register of EAC conformity proofs.
