The Ministry of International Relations (Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores) of the Dominican Republic announced a temporary suspension of apostille and document legalization services, according to the local publication Listin Diario.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported a major technical failure, due to which the electronic platform for legalization stopped working.
"We inform all our users that we have problems on the apostille and legalization services platform... Our specialists are working to solve this problem as soon as possible. We will inform you when the system is restored," the ministry said in an official statement distributed to the press.
The department's management apologized to people who needed the service for the inconvenience caused. The section containing information about legalization on the ministry's website remains unchanged.
We remind you that an apostille is an international standardized form of filling in information about the legality of a document for presentation in the territory of states and countries that recognize this form of legalization. If an apostille is placed on a "paper" document, then it is, as a rule, a special stamp. It is placed on the back of the document or on a special sheet sewn to it.
