The GOST 3034-2021 standard was approved by Rosstandart on 12/06/2021 and came into force on 04/01/2022. GOST 3034-2021 contains requirements for oatmeal (it was adopted instead of GOST 3034-75) and consists of the following sections:
- Scope
- Normative references
- Definitions and Terms
- Technical Requirements
- Security Indicators
- Characteristics of acceptance
- Methods of Control
- Storage and transport conditions
According to this standard, tests of production are carried out with regard to the following factors:
- organoleptic indicators (color, taste, smell)
- physico-chemical indicators (humidity, content of trimmings, acidity)
- toxicological indicators (content of radionuclides, pesticides, mycotoxins, other toxic components and compounds)
Depending on the results obtained, the type of oatmeal is determined.
Selection of samples and tests, including methods, are regulated by the current standards.
Features of marking oatmeal
Oatmeal marking is carried out taking into account the requirements of TR CU 022/2011 On food marking and GOST 3034-2021. This includes the affixing of information such as:
- Name of product
- Type and Class
- Name
- Quantity (mass)
- Date of manufacture
- Batch number
- Retention period
- Information about the manufacturer
In addition, information about the food (carbohydrate, fat and protein content) and the energy value (calorie content) of the product must be given on the packaging or label.
The updated standard is used to confirm the quality of oatmeal. In the standards of the current legislation, the EAC declaration is provided as a conformity assessment for oatmeal.
