The board of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved a new version of the program for the development of standards for the technical regulation TR CU 024/2011 On oil and fat products. Ten new standards are being developed: two of them will be produced by Kazakhstan, eight of them will be produced by Russia. The Technical Regulation set minimum requirements for the safety of products during the EAC Certification, EAC Declaration or state registration.
Five intergovernmental standards are being developed for food labeling. This applies in particular to the following standards: "General technical conditions" and "Technical conditions" for coconut oil, palm oil, palm kernel oil, unrefined linseed and safflower oil.
Five more standards are being developed for the examination in the conformity assessment procedure. This confirms that the products meet the requirements of technical regulations for oil and fat products. Uniform standards for methods for determining the content of animal and vegetable tocopherols, tocotrienols, styrenes and other trace elements in fats and oils as well as for determining cocoa butter equivalents in cocoa butter and chocolate made with modified vegetable oils are provided.
In addition, 26 intergovernmental standards are being revised and supplemented. The program was created according to the proposals of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, taking into account the implementation of the current edition.
