From March 1 to 16, 2018, a public hearing about the changes to the Technical Regulation On safety of milk and dairy products has taken place.
The changes concern the terms used in the regulation and are meant to bring the latter up-to-date and to avoid dual interpretation.
Some characteristics for dairy products, mixed milk products (with and without milk fat) are to be changed. This makes it possible to adapt various dairy products to current legal norms and requirements. The changes concern the following products:
- reconstituted milk
- whey
- ice cream with milk fat surrogates
- ice cream
- national dairy product
- powdered milk
- whey powder
- quark mixture
- ice cream containing milk
- liquid blends for ice cream
Practice has shown that organoleptic values of milk production have to be overhauled.
The changes to identification and safety values of dairy products, mixed milk products (with and without milk fat), acidified milk products, processed dairy products, dairy products for children's food will solve possible problems and complete the technical regulation.
The current version is available on the official website for the preparation of legal acts.
