The Eurasian Economic Commission drafted amendments to Commission Decision n. 125 of 26 September 2017, which provides for the extension of the fixed period of validity of the transitional period of the technical regulation TR EAEU TR 043/2017 "On requirements for fire retardants and fire-extinguishing systems".
The project proposes to extend the validity of conformity assessment documents for products according to TR EAEU 043/2017 until 1 July 2022.
The need to postpone the deadlines is linked to a limited number of certification bodies, which have an accreditation for TR EAEU 043/2017 and are registered in the national part of the single register of conformity assessment bodies of the EAEU. There are four such certification bodies in Russia, one in Belarus, and none in Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Kazakhstan.
Due to the extension of the transitional period, restrictions of competition between manufacturers of products can be avoided.
TR EAEU 043/2017 On requirements for fire retardants and fire-extinguishing systems” entered into force on January 1, 2020. The following transitional periods apply:
- until 1 July, 2021, manufacturers may use the old certificates
- within one year after the entry into force of TR EAEU 043/2017, it will also be possible to sell fire protection equipment for which no compulsory conformity assessment was required without authorisation.
