The Ministry of Industry and Trade in Russia approved the drafts for the technical regulation of high voltage equipment. The public discussion on the draft of the Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union (TR EAEU) “On safety of high voltage equipment” has already began on April 24, 2018.
The regulation holds for electrical products with a rated voltage above 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC that are intended for the generation, conversion, distribution or transmission of electrical energy.
This equipment covers:
- switchers, including reclosers
- load switch
- high frequency chokes
- insulator
- cable, cable accessories
- power capacitors
- transformer substation
- Switchgears
- Circuit breaker
- Electrical resistance (high voltage)
- Power line
The draft provides for mandatory conformity assessment in the form of an EAC declaration (Article 35 Chapter VII). For the registration of the declaration, sample tests must be carried out in an accredited laboratory. Depending on the type of production, the following conformity assessment schemes can be selected: 3d, 4d, 5d or 6d.
National rules and regulations apply in the member states of the EAWU until the regulations come into force. In Russia, high-voltage equipment is subject to GOST R certification in accordance with the government decree of 1 December 2009 № 982.
