New rules on emergency and life preserver will be adopted

The Commission of the Eurasian Economic Union is negotiating about the adoption of the new technical regulations "On the safety of products intended for civil protection and protection in a state of emergency".

The new framework unifies technical safety requirements, which are used for civil protection and emergency situations. The regulations contain rules on identification, marking and forms of conformity assessment.

Register of electronic equipment passed

The register of electronic equipment for which the use of hazardous substances is restricted, will come into force on November 18, 2018. The products have to conform with the guidelines of the technical regulation TR EAEU 037/2016 On restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

The register includes the following types of products:

New standards on fire safety passed

The new technical regulation TR EAEU 43/2017 On requirements for fire safety and extinguishing devices is to come into force on January 1, 2020. The regulation standardises requirements for:

• Fire extinguishers
• Flame and smoke retardants
• Firefighting technology
• Firefighting equipment

According to the EAEU's statements, the national regulations of the EAEU member states will be adapted to the new standards.

In Russia in 2017, about 100 fire safety standards have been updated.

Register of mineral fertilizers passed

The Eurasian Economic Union has defined the Register of mineral fertilizers in accordance with the EAEU customs tariff numbers. These substance are subject to conformity assessment with the technical regulation TR EAEU 039/2016 On requirements for mineral fertilizer .

Eurasian Economic Union updates TR CU 021/2011 On safety of food

In conjunction with TR EAEU 044/2017 On the safety of packaged drinking water including natural mineral water coming into force, the provisions of TR CU 021/2011 On safety of food have been updated. The term "Drinking water for baby food" will be erased from the technical regulation in order to avoid overlappings with the new regulation.
