In Belarus certain regulations on the energy efficiency of technical devices have been in effect since 2017. Mostly it affects household appliances such as refrigerators, televisions, ovens, washing machines, dishwashers and others. These devices must be marked with an energy label.
Certification of household appliances is defined in the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 849 "On some questions of conformity assessment in the National System for Conformity Confirmation of the Republic of Belarus" dated October 21, 2016.

The following products are excluded from the certification:
- second-hand goods
- samples
- one specimen imported exclusively for personal use
- products received as foreign aid free of charge
- products imported for usage exclusively in the representative offices of foreign organizations in the territory of the Republic of Belarus
PCs, Tablets, Server und Laptops are not subject to mandatory certification for energy efficiency, according to the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 849/77.

Marking
The products must be marked accordingly. The following information must be provided:
- Name and Trademark of the manufacturer;
- Model of the device
- Information about energy efficiency class;
- Identification of energy consumption
- Device-specific information
The label is placed on the product. Labels should be visible and legible. The information it contains must be accurate and not misleading.
The manufacturer (the authorized representative or the importer) determines the energy efficiency class of the device and develops the technical data sheet and label.
Conformity assessment procedure:
Household appliances sold in the territory of the Republic of Belarus must confirm their conformity in accordance with:
- Technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union: TR CU 004/2011 On safety of low-voltage equipment und TR CU 020/2011 On electromagnetic compatibility;
- National norms of Belarus about Energy efficiency anchored in the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 849 “On some questions of conformity assessment in the National System for Confirmation of Conformity of the Republic of Belarus
