On September 5, 2017, the Eurasian Economic Commission has published the official resolution № 45 About the technical regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union "On safety of packaged potable water including natural mineral water".
The regulation's official name is TR EAEU 044/2017 On safety of packaged potable water including natural mineral water. The regulation shall enter into force on January 1, 2019.
The following products must apply to the requirements of TR EAEU 044/2017:
- Natural mineral water, healing water, spring water
- Table water
- Natural drinking water
- Drinking water for baby food
- Artificially mineralized drinking water
The technical regulation does not apply to:
- Natural mineral water not supposed for drinking
- Drinking water for water supply
The conformity with the technical regulation has to be attested in the form of the EAC Declaration. Water for baby food and healing water need to undergo a state hygienic registration instead of the EAC Declaration.
In addition to this new technical regulation the technical regulations TR CU 022/2011 On food marking and TR CU 005/2011 On safety of packaging have to be complied with.
In the context of the introduction of a new technical regulation on the safety of water the general technical regulation TR СU 022/2011 On food marking has to be revised. We will keep you informed about changes to the regulation.
