The Technical Regulation for the building materials will be drawn up by the EAEU

On April 22, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved a new version of the plan to develop and amend the Technical Regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union. According to the plan, 11 new Technical Regulations will be created and changes will be made to 42 existing Technical Regulations .

Realization of this plan enables to uniform requirements for products, which require the conformity assessment by means of a EAC Certificate or a EAC Declaration and are sold within the EAEU, as well as to remove technical obstacles in mutual trade between the members of the EAEU.

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has decided to develop two separate Technical Regulations: for building materials and construction products and for buildings and structures. The internal market for building materials in the EAEU is ensured faster and more effectively through separate Technical Regulations.

The Technical Regulation for the building materials is to be approved by the EAEU countries in the 4th quarter of 2020. The Russian Federation is responsible for this procedure.

In addition, according to the plan, a separate technical set of rules will be drawn up for feed of unproductive animals (which are not used in animal production). The Russian Federation is also responsible for this procedure. The results of the cooperation are to be presented to the Eurasian Economic Commission in the 4th quarter of 2023.

The new version of the plan also contains nine new changes in the following technical regulations: TR CU 014/2011 On safety of motorways a>, TR EAEU 040/2016 On safety of fish products, TR EAEU 044/2017 On safety of bottled water and natural mineral water and TR CU 018/2011 On safety of wheeled vehicles and TR CU 021/2011 On safety of food.
