The Real Estate Register in Georgia is under the jurisdiction of the National Public Register Agency which falls under responsibility of the Ministry of Justice.
Acute need for creating the real estate register in Georgia emerged in 1990-s amidst the privatization process.
A legal basis for creation of the uniform real estate data base was created in 1997 by means of introducing a relevant regulation in the Civil Code. The State Land Management Department was established for management in this area. However, technical inventory bureaus (TIB), which were subordinate to local self-government authorities, were preserved, which resulted in duplication of functions and lack of coordination of authorities in real estate registration issues. Thus, in 2004 the State Land Management Department was abolished, and TIBs were dissolved after it. Instead, the National Public Register Agency was established, to which all data from previous real estate registers were given.
Since 2017 the Agency has started to introduce the blockchain technology.
From the real estate register of Georgia one may obtain:

- extract from the cadastral plan
The extract from the register contains basic information about an object, rights to it and related public-legal limitations.
The real estate register in Georgia is public, however access to is possible only after payment of a duty.
In order to obtain extracts in Georgia, one should apply to the House of Justice, or to its branches.
The following shall be available

- document on duty payment
If an applicant applies to the register indirectly, a power of attorney must be provided aswell.
For an extract to acquire full legal force, it must be apostilled.
The main document provided from the real estate registers of Georgia is a certificate from the electronic archive, certified by an electronic digital signature. This document is provided in Georgian and contains the main information about the property:

Apostilled extracts from Georgia
Georgia joined the Hague Convention on simplified legalization of documents on August 21, 2006. On May 14, 2007 the Convention came into force.
Thus, documents issued in Georgia are subject to legalization based on the apostilling procedure, after certified translation such documents acquire full legal force on the territory of all other Hague Convention Member States.
As a rule of thumb, apostillation of extracts takes about two weeks.
