A new order has approved the list of medical devices classified as measuring instruments and defined a new procedure for their testing. For the state registration and market release of these medical devices, type approval testing as measuring instruments is mandatory.
As a member of the EAEU since January 2, 2015, Armenia adheres to the common technical regulations and standards of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

On November 6, 2020 the fourth meeting of the Interdepartamental Council of National Quality Infrastructure took place.
During the meeting, the question of the possibility of accredited bodies to work in the field of mandatory conformity assessment with the requirements of the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union was discussed. 17 newly accredited bodies were added to the national part of the single register and 425 accredited bodies confirmed their qualification. 171 accredited bodies have been excluded from the national part of the single register.
From 1 January 2021, a new GOST standard R 54293-2020 "Production audit within the framework of confirmation of conformity", approved by Rosstandart Decision No 583 of 28 August 2020, will come into force.
This standard will replace the old GOST R 54293-2010, which has been in use since 2010.
The new GOST-standard R 56016-2020 “Conformity assessment.
