The Sulanate of Oman is an Arab country in Western Asia, situated at the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Oman is a parliamentary absolute monarchy, with the sultan as head of state. Local currency is the Rial (OMR), the official language is Arabic. Oman is a member of the United Nations (UN), the Arab League and other international organisations.
The pillar of the omani economy is the export of petrol and other crude oils. The Oman has no opportunity of developing any agriculture (just 1% of the total GDP), the service and the industrial sectors have shares of 50% and 49% respectively of the GDP. Roughly 70% of the working population in the Oman are foreigneres. In terms of the GDP-level, the Oman ranks 22nd worldwide.
The Oman has a muslims legal system, the Sharia is an official source of law. Some legal elements were adopted from neighboring countries.
