Register of beneficiaries of Hungary
In Hungary, the Anti – Money Laundering Act came into force on 26 June 2017, setting a deadline of 1 January 2019 for the introduction of a beneficiary register in the country. However, after 20 months, the registry did not appear, and a website on the Internet was not created for it.
The Government of Hungary claims that at the moment there is no specific date when the registers of beneficiaries will start to be maintained and it is impossible to predict this date.
It should be noted that anti-terrorist organizations and state security services will also have access to information from the register of beneficiaries on an equal basis with the tax authorities. Thus, it can be assumed that the register of beneficiaries in Hungary, unlike others, will be available to an expanded circle of people (within the framework of cooperation for fighting against terrorism).
Apostille for extracts from commercial register of Hungary
Hungary acceded to the The Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents on 18 April 1972.
Therefore, the documents issued in Hungary are subject to a simplified apostilling procedure, thus the documents gain full legal value in Convention member states after certified translation.
Apostilling usually takes about two weeks.
In addition, you can order certified translation from the Hungarian language.
